RICHARD MAWULI GAIKPA, GRADUATE ASSISTANT

Richard Mawuli Gaikpa (He/Him): I hold a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from the University of Cape Coast in Ghana. I started a master’s degree in communication and storytelling at East Tennessee State University but transferred to New Mexico State University to pursue a master’s in communication studies. In the past, I have explored communication strategies used by international students to bridge the accent gap, and I have also researched the emergence of artificial intelligence and organizational culture. I am currently investigating how the LGBTQ+ community in Ghana is leveraging social media to voice resistance against the Anti-LGBTQ+ Bill.

Personal Aspiration: Combining my passion and talents and using them for a greater purpose. I believe that as you let your own light shine, you unconsciously give others permission to do the same, so shine your light brighter.
