Black Faculty & Staff Connect

Dr Eric House and Dr. Patrick Turner. The image shows a social gathering at an indoor venue. In the foreground, two men are seated at a round table covered with a white tablecloth. The man on the left is wearing a black shirt with layered gold chains, eyeglasses, and has a short beard. The man on the right is wearing a maroon blazer over a white shirt, a necklace, and rings on his left hand. Both men have an amiable expression. On the table, there are two identical printed sheets and a sparkly silver "23" decoration. In the background, there are other people standing and chatting. The room has beige walls, and a few framed paintings are hanging on the right side. There is an exit sign with a green light above a door on the back wall. To the left, there is a table with a white tablecloth holding food and beverage containers, including a tall beverage dispenser.

The inaugural Black Faculty and Staff Connect took place on Thursday, September 28, 2023, in the Dona Ana room. The Black Faculty and Staff Connect is a drop-in event—an informal and inclusive gathering designed specifically for our esteemed Black faculty and staff members. This event provides a unique opportunity to foster connections, network, and cultivate meaningful relationships within our academic community. Whether you're a seasoned professional or new to our team, this event offers a welcoming space to share experiences, insights, and camaraderie.

At "Black Faculty and Staff Connect," members of the black faculty and staff community at NMSU have the chance to engage in open discussions, exchange ideas, and discover common ground with their colleagues. Our goal is to nurture a sense of unity and strengthen the bonds that contribute to the diversity and vibrancy of our institution. We invite all Black faculty and staff to stop by, enjoy refreshments, and connect with fellow members of the NMSU community. Your presence and engagement are invaluable as we work together to build lasting connections and support one another within our community. We look forward to seeing you there!
